DJedi over Rock on Badlands

djedi-v-rock-badlands-r1.jpg
Round 1

Scouts ran low under the bridge and called incomings and handled their business and pulled out. They generally went all through the house and were stopped at the door by our spam. We held the middle fairly well. The medics called out incomings from everywhere and chatter was kept to a minimum. Wilson and Moop had some pretty sick air rockets which I hope can be turned into short .avi’s for us to post on here. Grog did an effective job of cutting off certain points so they had no way of attacking through that way without either blowing uber or wasting ammo knocking pipes out of the way. Soldiers rj’d to good spots and ran back to medics when they needed help. Our scouts pushed nicely from the spire and onward. The final point was taken by ubers. They always had a hw/medic on the last point and he never seemed to have uber. If he did, we forced him to blow it and went in. We noticed that sniper wasn’t as effective as it could have been so we had niko switch from sniper to soldier and saw an immediate speed increase in our caps. As medic, heiner went 2/3. Good protection from the soldiers made this a very nice match (and the blutsauger is great). Heiner pushed with a soldier or demo almost every time, and Polar pushing from the other way sandwiching them in. If hein’s uber push didnt clear the cap, Polar’s did. Good coordination round one. Moop finished up the round with 5 dominations, Grog had 4.
Round 1: DJedi 4 - Rock 1 GO team MOOP!

Round 2 - Grog Dominates

We took a short break while Rock decided how to counter our pushes. Their response was pretty severe……only to hein. They ran a spy and on the first run he was able to backstab hein before he could blow uber. And then again a moment later. BUT NOT THREE TIMES!!!! After that DJedi had their eyes peeled. Lucky for us the spy (Linkletter) had a fondness for disguising as scout….even though there is a noticeable speed difference. So that made it easier to spot. We had a little more trouble staying focused this time through and the round lasted a few minutes longer. Wilson decided he wanted to switch with Polar and play some Medic while Polar Soldiered. Compared to r1’s 10 minutes, r2 took 15. We pulled it together and kept our pushes strong and ended the round just about the same. I got a screenshot of Grog’s 28-2 run with 5 dominations. Mad props.
Round 2: DJedi 4 - Rock 0

Final Score: DJedi over Rock 8-1

A special thanks to hein for this writeup. I told him to pin the tail on whatever he wanted. Too bad I can’t make her real bro.

STA: The Digital Jedi vs Kind of a Big Deal

The following writeup, submitted by Heineken, covers a pre-season match against Random Shackers, now known as KBD on CP_Steel. This map has a steep learning curve, but after a few scrims we were able to pull it together.

djedi-v-kbd-r1-cp_steel.jpg

We started off on the DJedi Chicago server where everyone on both teams averaged around 40 ping (most having 20-30 and a few outlayers)

Defenders: thespawn/hein medic, grog/polar demo, slingshot/wilson/niko soldier, tendril eng/soldier
The round started off with DJedi playing defense. We decided to try some spy sneakery at A to get a medic. I’m not so sure it worked, but we also sent a demoman to take up some of their time. Polar was able to kill two of them right off the bat. He held them off for a minute or two and fell back to the rest of us at B. Tendril was our designated sentry gun professional and put it in the designated SG spot. After it went down twice (as he wanted) he went Soldier. It did a good job of forcing their ubers. He was able to keep it up against two seperate uber rushes (hw and then a demo). Slingshot as soldier and theSpawn as medic started the round off up high in B clogging the small hallway for them and dropped down when they flooded it. Heineken and theSpawn basically kept everyone as overhealed as possible, even though theSpawn was trailing behind Slingshot like a puppy because he needs a medic on him at all times (LOL!!!!). A spy snuck through and right as someone called “SPY AS ENGINEER!!”, hein got stabbed in the back losing one uber. That little sneak attack didnt do much to bust through the defense. They tried a few singular pushes to E, but grog as piper or Wilson as soldier would always go back and knock them to their doom. Our D was only really tested once when a lot of us were killed and they had 75% of the point. Right then everyone spawned, and heineken had uber and blew it blocking the point. Our 4 soldiers and 2 Demos flooded through and pushed them back. A couple DJedi ended the round with 1 death and many kills. Heineken went 2-1 thanks to that crafty spy!

Attackers: thespawn/hein medic, grog/polar demo, wilson/niko soldier, tendril/slingshot scout
We watched for what they were doing at A and decided to push E hard and end it quick. There was no opposition at B so our demomen piped the oppropriate doors/spawns and soldiers got in place to block as well. Once this was accomplished our 2 scouts jumped onto the point. A few times they had to jump off. Grog and Polar did a stellar job of keeping them piped in, while the Soldiers kept them back with a constant stream of rockets. theSpawn followed the soldiers and demoman keeping them alive, while heineken stayed on the scouts keeping them alive from random rocket spray and pipes. We were able to cap the point without much of a hickup. I’m unaware if any DJedi died during the offensive push. All I know is that I (heineken) didnt get a chance to blow my uber all over Grog’s face so I am unsatisfied.

We started to play D again and were holding them at B for 4 minutes or so and then they decided they wanted to play on their West coast server where everyone pinged atrocious. At this point I had to drop in order to go to work. Otherwise….we would have had both rounds finished by the time I left for work. GG!!

STA: DJedi over FOoM on Goldrush

Tuesday night we faced off against FOoM for STA on Valve’s latest map, a remake of Goldrush. Things kicked off a little after 9:30 and DJedi was on offense first.

foom-djedi-gr-rd1.jpg
Round 1

We pushed out hard with uber and forced FOoM backwards from the gates. We focused on taking out their sniper, [FOoM]pwnoply, and the sentry that was stationed in the loft. After taking out these key defensive members we were able to focus on the cart and keep it constantly moving for most of Stage 1. Stage 2 was roughly the same, we pushed out and took out as many of their defenders with uber as we could and finally pushed far enough to get in range of their sentry. It gave us a bit of resistance but after taking it down we captured the cart and pushed into the second point of stage 2. Here we were met with some strong resistance but were still able to focus and take down their defense with the helpful cover fire of Polar[DJedi]. Stage 3 was much more difficult as we were able to push the cart almost all the way to the back point but were continually thwarted by FOoM’s two demo’s, sniper and engineer. Even with ubers we couldn’t kill enough enemies to cap the cart all the way and were held to 6 points on offense.

Now it was FOoM’s chance to run offense and DJedi was to defend. After such a long round we had a few people who needed to go to work and had someone use the bathroom. All the while, the game was live and there was no break. When the gates opened we were not in position and were down at least 3 guys. FOoM stormed out of their base and made quick order of the first stage. After some adrenaline enhanced words everyone settled down and we sucked it up and got ready to defend Stage 2, this time with our entire lineup. Our gun was almost immediately spotted and taken down by an ubercharge. We held the first point as long as we could, but FOoM overwhelmed us and we moved to setup defense on the 2nd point of the stage. Slingshot took over as sniper and Polar moved to soldier, after first moonlighting as an engineer to help get the gun up. Our defense stood strong with the massive mowing power of infinite and the sharp shooting from Slingshot. I would like to blame theSpawn for our offensive stop, his key saves on various players as medic, especially our sniper, was integral in our success.
Round 1: DJedi 6 - FOoM 3
Praise: theSpawn

SOOoo Close

A short break later we were back on the server to start Round 2. This time DJedi didn’t fumble the defense and started with a full roster. Much as the same as last time though, FOoM rolled out and began pushing us back with ubers while someone hung back to move the cart. While we held them off longer than the last round of defense, we couldn’t stop them and they captured the first stage. This time for stage 2, FOoM kept the pressure on strong the entire round. We had to hold them back for a little more than five minutes and it was an epic struggle for dominance on both sides. For four minutes, both teams exchanged blows and traded frags until the 60 second warning. At this point both sides regrouped and FOoM pushed in with massive forces and blew multiple ubercharges. DJedi scattered to avoid death and countered with an uber-heavy to stop the cart and take out the cluster of people huddling around it.

foom-djedi-gr-rd2.jpg
Round 2

The last 30 seconds was as intense of a firefight as I can remember in any match and as the clock ticked down the cart was still inching forward. Finally, time ran out and FOoM had been stopped by the closest of margins. DJedi then took over on offense and in a replay of the first half, FOoM stopped us with 6 points as time ran out.
Round 2: DJedi 6 - FOoM 3

What a great match, thank you for the intense games FOoM, you guys are always worthy opponents. Look forward to facing you again soon.

Final Score: DJedi over FOoM, 12-6

STA: DJedi over Ghosts of Darkness

Tuesday, DJedi faced off against Ghosts of Darkness on Desert Fortress, a custom map with two middle points to keep the game interesting. Round 1 started off with a bang, GD had obviously done their homework and kept us on our toes. DJedi was able to score early after some hard fought battles to go up 2-0. GD was determined though and was able to close the lead with some precision sniping from [GD]reelz and full frontal heavy weapons guy action. GD was closing in on our lead at 3-2 and was on the verge of tying it up, but Hein and Hangy made the save by capturing B. DJedi pushed forward and won Round 1: 4-2 DJedi.

gd-desertfortress-rd1.jpggd-desertfortress-rd2.jpg

For round 2 we switched Tendril in for Hein, whose new 3rd shift job is totally awesome. For this round we corrected some of the mistakes we made in Round1 and everyone played tighter and with more intensity the 2nd round. Polar’s sniper rifle was on fire and his cover support held reelz and GD down while the rest of DJedi moved around the map. Communication and teamwork really came together and were able to execute our strategy at a high level. Round 2: 4-0 DJedi.

Great game’s GD, we look forward to our next battle.

Final Scores
Round 1: 4-2 DJedi
Round 2: 4-0 DJedi
Final: 8-2 DJedi over GD

STA: DJedi over RES on cp_desertfortress

Last night we faced off against |RES| on cp_desertfortress for STA. As lunk mentioned in his post last night, Valve released the long awaited Medic Achievements and Goldrush update last night at about 9:00 p.m. EST (30 minutes before the match), so both teams were eager to get to work on earning the achievements and unlocking the new medic weapons. Let me say that the Vampire Gun is totally awesome and I think its great that Valve is adding functionality to the game for free to keep it fresh and I can’t wait to see what they roll out for the other classes.

DJedi vs. RES cp_desertfortress r1
Round 1

After waiting over a half hour past the scheduled match time for RES to get their 8th member online, DJedi had to ask to start the round as we had a number of players who had to work the night shift and could only play the first round if we started immediately. This was disappointing as RES is always an excellent oppononent and we were looking forward to a great match and prefer not to have an unfair advantage. DJedi took the first two caps easily with |RES| down a man, before their 8th arrived. With an even lineup, things got more interesting as both teams traded frags and the battle see-sawed back and forth between A and B, with both teams struggling to capture both and push to the final control point. The sniper bullets of Polar[DJedi] and |RES|cides whizzed through the air as Wilson[DJedi] and |RES|Phaser traded rockets on the roofs and heineken[DJedi] and Tendril[DJedi] kept |RES| on the defensive with their ninja scouting. After a hard fought battle, moop[DJedi] and theSpawn[DJedi] pushed the final CP, with piping support from shoe[DJedi] to end the round in a shutout.
R1: [DJedi] 4-0

Round 2 saw theSpawn and heineken having to go off to work with gholam and Akira coming in. The first cap went to |RES| as they managed to divide and defeat the [DJedi] forces with a combination of speed and firepower thanks in part to a triple scout assault. [DJedi] rallied for the second clash, with lunk[DJedi] medicing and calling some key pushes. The teams seemed to swap control of the A and B CPs consistently before a coordinated attack on B finally resulted in [DJedi]’s control of both CPs. We pushed the final CP with an uber to tie the round up 1-1 and ensure a [DJedi] victory for the match.
R2: [DJedi] 1-1

Final Score: [DJedi] 5, |RES| 1

It was a great game when both teams fielded 8 players and cp_desertfortress proved a worthy battlefield. We look forward to playing |RES| again.

STA: [CSI] forfeit, TFL: [DJedi] over [TF2F] on ctf_smooth

32smooth.jpg
32smooth

This week started out with a disappointing forfeit win from [CSI] in STA. Coming from a qwtf background, we were looking forward to playing some ctf_smooth, as its a port from the very popular original QWTF version by DrSmooth[OSKI] and we all have some great memories of epic matches on smooth against clans like Megadeath, Gothic Terror and The Nothing. The new version plays great and is substantially brighter than the original. The only issues we’ve experienced are that you can get snagged in the water entrance and occasionally you will spawn with everything crooked (and I couldn’t find the quad damage).

Moop Portrait ctf_smooth
Mooportrait

Luckily, Team Fortress 2 Fort was gracious enough to give us a map change to 2 rounds of ctf_smooth for our TFL match from ctf_impact (another great QWTF port of a map originally built by my former clanmate [WM]Kordos and created for TF2 by the talented Vilepickle, who just keeps making great custom maps). We had time to squeeze in some Jedi portraits next to lunk’s epic regret and cheetos spray before the round started and you can check out the moop portrait to the right.

DJedi vs. TF2F ctf_smooth R1
Round 1

Round 1 started off with a bang as we pulled out an early capture thanks to some impressive spy work by resident hibernator Polar. As the round continued, the dual assault of our 2 medic soldier combos of Tendril + theSpawn and Moop + Wilson overwhelmed the enemy base and brought home 4 additional caps, while our defense locked down our base, letting only 1 cap out and racking up the teleporter points.
R1: 5-1 [DJedi]

DJedi vs. TF2F ctf_smooth R2
Round 2

Round 2 started with another early cap from DJedi, after which TF2F’s defense dug in, with [TF2F]Thrickstr’s demo’ing and [TF2F]PanFrie’s medic hunting scouting keeping our offense at bay for the rest of the round. With DJedi dominating the middle of the map and continually pushing against the near-impregnable TF2F defense, they were unable to get any substantial flag movement.
R2: 1-0 [DJedi]

Final Score: [DJedi] 6, [TF2F] 1

GG [TF2F], you were a worthy opponent as always. Thanks for the map change.

Critical STA News

criticalhit1.png

The votes are in! Stronger Than All, an 8v8 TF2 league, has tallied the results and removed critical shots from match play.

Bucky33 an admin for STA posted this to their front page.

The vote to end crits was shockingly even. I’ll delve more into this in the forum. The configs have been updated and are available. Starting with matches 3/25 STA will no longer use weapon criticals.

Thank you to everyone who voted, and yay for no crits. CAL and STA are now no crits, should only be a matter of time before TFL follows suit.

STA: DJedi over SoBe on CTF_Impact

djedivsobe-r1-ctf_impact20000.jpg
Round 1

Last Tuesday DJedi faced SoBe on on ctf_impact, a remake of a Quakeworld Teamfortress map. The first round started and both forces met in the middle of the map to jockey for position. DJedi was able to hold the middle and push a medic/soldier around the side and up onto the top of SoBe’s base. Moop dropped down the chute and double rocket jumped right back out with the flag. Moop continued to RJ away with the flag to put DJedi up early in first round. Meanwhile on the defensive side of things, SoBe tried to pull the flag up the ramp and through our glass room. But a scout didn’t realize the glass was broken and ended up dropping the flag back into the flag room after being killed by Rental and Heineken. Infinite and his medic were now on top of SoBe’s base and he is credited with pulling out another coast to coast capture. Hein, our D engineer has seen little action at this point and pushed into the middle with his shotgun blazing. Hein disrupted SoBe’s offensive push by forcing a medic to blow uber early in the yard. Infinite and theSpawn survived the blown uber and after taking down the medic/soldier combo they pushed front door and broke the glass. Infinite shot all the pipes off of the flag stand and proceeded to double RJ up and out of the chute again and dropped the flag to Tendril who was waiting on the side as scout to run the flag back for a cap. Somehow theSpawn managed to stay alive in their flag room and met infinite on the outside of their base. After the cap, theSpawn and infinite were waiting on top of SoBe’s base and dropped down to grab the flag again for a coast to coast capture. SoBe had some strong pushes but DJedi was able to stop most of them before they pushed too far into our defense.
Round 1: DJedi 8 - Sobe 4

djedi-sobe-impact-rd2.jpg
Round 2

Round 2 we switched up the lineup, lunk took over as flag D engineer and Slingshot swapped with Rental to run around as scout. This round started off with a bigger bang as SoBe banged extremely hard on our base as they tried to make up the 4 capture deficit. Somehow we were able to hold off most of their pushes and due to their more offensive oriented strategy 2nd round, their defense was left more vulnerable. DJedi finished over SoBe in the 2nd Round.
Round 2: DJedi 12 - Sobe 4

Final Score
Round 1: DJedi 8 - SoBe 4
Round 2: DJedi 12 - SoBe 4
Final: DJedi over Sobe, 20-8

I would like to include some more excerpts of match impressions from our mailing list.

Rental Writes:

From my point of view, i think their sniper did a great job round one and really kept us on our heals. I was killed by the sniper 3 times in the first 3 minutes of the match. He would be halfway into the glassroom and still get me coming in the front. He also did a good job of protecting the side when he was up on the roof. I was there long enough to see Lunk’s -eg- skills. =).
good game all. -rntl

Wilson submitted this great recap:

All right well let me toss out some writeup material that doesnt involve their sniper :)

We started the round off with about half of our offenses trying to get into our nest and spam them as they came into our base, but this turned out to be an easily spammable area and they took out a couple of our players (medic, demoman, not sure how else). After that, we really exploited their lack of any roof defense and minimal traffic on the side entrance to their base, starting slow with only 1 or 2 caps but ramping it up with moop and infinite’s impressive rocket jumps out the chimney exit. They seemed to be running an engy but for the most part their gun was down when we made it to their flagroom. Late in the match they seemed to wise up about the roof and start playing more defense on there, so we moved to attacking the front of the base and coming through the glass, which was also effective (although slightly harder due to respawn placement, which seems somewhat problematic on this map). In round 2 it was pretty much more of the same, except I played worse and died more. Highlight was definitely healing lunk while he circle strafed around his sentry, taking out a medic and soldier uber combo that came down the chimney and keeping his gun up.

Overall we dominated their base and kept the caps flowing out at a pretty steady rate while stopping them from capping all that much. We also did a good job of not spending too much time on defense at all. Sometimes its very tempting but ctf in tf2 doesnt seem to be much of a shutout proposition so much as cap the most (kind of like 32smooth in qwtf).

I reviewed my demo as engineer and threw together a youtube video. On a second viewing I thought it was so-so, but it was fun either way! Amazing games SoBe, best of luck in the future.

STA: DJedi Defeats REV6 in Dustbowl Overtime

Last Tuesday DJedi faced REV6 on cp_dustbowl for STA. I asked some people for their input and will be copying it verbatim since I did not participate in the match.

Round 1
Offense: We fought valiantly and had a tough battle capturing the 2nd stage of dustbowl. For the 3rd stage we ubered through and took out their gun and Rental captured (gay’d) the last CP with no one around.

Defense: Tried to stop REV6 at 2b but they broke through and captured. REV6 Pushed hard on us on the 3rd stage and ultimatley capped out.

Round 2 - See above

Over Time
OT consisted of a stopwatch round on only the 1st stage of dustbowl. We captured first with 4:01 left on the gameclock. Our defense held stout and as the clock ticked down, we held out longer to ultimatley win the match. REV6 dropped from the server knowing they had lost and after multiple hours of match play I don’t blame them.

I would like to extend our gratitude to STA for making dustbowl the longest running match map ever, clocking in at just under 2.5 hours.

PS.: Sorry for such a late writeup and such a lackadaisical approach to the article.

rev6_dustbowl.jpg

Rental’s POV
I know I had two solo -rent-a-cap-’s, the first was
Offensive Stage 3… ubered in, took out the gun and kept pushing to their back CP.
Put pipes on the spawn doors and capped the final CP right after we capped the front.
The other one I forget.. might have been at stage 2.

Wilson’s POV
Similar to Rental my night started out with incredibly frustrating technical issues, although mine resolved around 60% packetloss from comcast. Props to Akira for stepping it up in the medic position for round 1. Luckily things resolved themself for round 2 so I came in and replaced theSpawn as medic.

Highlights from the round I remember
- R1 our engineer’s sentry taking out two of their team unattended in point 1a
- Rental’s rent-a-cap on the last point
- Rental killing like 5 of their team when we were on defense and lost point 2a. We had like 3 people down after they took point a and they were pushing forward with their entire team and I remember someone saying ‘Rental you better kill their entire team’ or something and then seeing like 5 of them die, so that was huge
- Sling’s uber charge during OT
- Lunk for shoutcasting the match to the rest of us on vent since hltv only had one slot in r1 :(
- Tendril and Moop soldiering in OT on 1b for dominating the platform and keeping the enemy from gaining the strategic high ground

Hein’s POV
2a hosing down 7 or 8 people in a 1 minute span to die to 3 crit rockets simultaneously shot at me on the point.
r2 backstabbing the hw and medic on 3a so we could push in.
OT going 13-0

MVP moments
-Sling’s uber building in OT (even though all of our soldiers should be doing this, he took the initiative to know that it HAD to be done to get the win and it paid off).
-Rental: sneaking behind the D both round 1 and 2 to get cp 3b (props).
-Rental: moving from 3a to 3b and piping the one way area and moving back (i spectated while dead, after the flying crits) and watched him lay sticky after sticky and them walk right over them.

Darwin Award winner
-Akira: for having 100% uber and saying to push then switching off me to die to the stickies on the wall.

Shoe’s POV
Did really well on offense up until OT where I seemed to hit a wall every time
Getting hammered as engy until OT where I somehow kept my gun up through 3 uber charges on it until they finally destroyed it on their final (unsuccessful) push

MVP moments:
Slingshot sniping on Red Rd2

STA: DJedi over FOoM, 7-4 on cp_labor

Season 2 of the Stronger Than All Team Fortress 2 8on8 tournament started off with a bang Tuesday night. For our inaugural second season match we faced off against The Fraternal Order of Moof on cp_labor. DJedi was the away team and played on their server for both rounds.

GameServers.com provides the absolute worst game server products, our server was completely unplayable and was canceled after a failed scrimmage with bloc where the server lagged to the point of being unplayable and finally crashed.

Round 1
Round 1

The first round got off to a start and we were feeling confident having been successful in multiple scrimmages before the Tuesday night match. We barreled into the middle point on our first rush and FOoM smacked us in the face really hard and took out 5 guys as they claimed their stake on the CP. Keeping up their momentum FOoM pushed us back and proceeded to capture our next point and work up 2 ubers for the final assault on our last CP. After what seemed like an insanely long wait in respawn purgatory most of our guys were back up. Slingshot>P snuck out of our high entrance and got the drop on a charged medic who was staging for an attack on the last point. FOoM pushed forward from low right with their remaining uber but we were able to counter with our own and stand on our final point which was now about a third of the way captured. We held off their assault and used our second ubercharge to move forward and reclaim CP2. We had the momentum and our soldiers and heavies pushed forward to the middle point and got in position to meet FOoM’s respawn wave as they flooded the middle. After mowing down their forces we held back, maintained position and worked up our ubers. Our first venture into enemy territory we went in with two ubers and picked apart the FOoM defense and pushed them back to claim CP4. As an uber was running out though, Slingshot and his medic pushed on the left into the final CP and killed their reinforcements. Though he lost his medic in the firefight, Slingshot was still standing after the dust settled and he solo-captured to put DJedi up 1-0.

alleight.gif
All 8 Teammates

After the reset we attacked and lost the middle but without losing as many people this time. We fell back to our 2nd CP and dug in to thwart an uber-laden attack. We held strong this time and did not give up the point, having the advantage we pushed forward and met more resistance in the middle. We slowly picked apart FOoM in the middle and with a crit rocket from the barn, moop took out the final two enemies to capture the middle point. Still having the advantage we pushed forward to claim CP4, but their defense flushed us back into the middle and kept us at bay. For 2-3 minutes neither team could make any forward progress and eventually we heard the 60 second warning, which prompted us to get moving. We moved in with staggered ubers and took CP4 even with strong resistance. However in our rush against the clock, we left moop all alone to cap and a heavy in the window cut him down. At this point we had a 6 people on their last, locked, cp and we had to wait for someone to fall back and cap the point fully. This little fumble allowed FOoM to collapse on CP4 and cap it, which helped us by adding 2 minutes to the clock. Our respawn wave arrived to CP4 just as they were capturing with a Heavy/Medic combo and Slingshot and Moop proceeded to decimate everyone who stood in front of them and cleared the road all the way to their last point and the ensuing cap. DJedi goes up 2-0.

Our next attempt was a monumental failure. We attacked mid and lost 6 people while FOoM lost maybe 1 or 2. With no chance to recover we were completely rolled and when we exited our respawn we met their entire team and died while they capped the point. FOoM scored and the game is now at 2-1. The next two scores were very similar to the above battles, lots of push and pull from both teams as we fought for positioning. We traded scores, first DJedi went up 3-1 and then FOoM closed the gap in the remaining minutes of Round 1 with a last minute score. Round 1: DJedi 3, Foom 2

Both teams took a brief intermission and switched up the colors. We played on the same server for the above reasons. The 2nd round was a hard fought battle with lots of similar gameplay as round 1. I think we still lost the middle everytime but were able to hold off the attacks and push out.

Round 2
Round 2

Fast forward four scores and Round 2 is tied up at 2-2. DJedi still has the lead for the overall match, but FOoM had been dominating us the entire 5th mini-round and we had our backs against the wall. Our last point had already been captured about half way from previous FOoM incursions and we were bracing for a double-ubered push that would be the tying cap for FOoM. Rockets and pipes and critical minigun shots (oh my) were flying all over the place. We countered with an uber and stood on the point to block their capture. A well placed rocket from one of our soldiers knocked the heavy off the point and when uber wore off, we destroyed their entire team. FOoM had at least 6 or 7 guys down and we pushed out to capture our CP2 and continued rolling into the middle. Carrying the momentum we killed an unorganized FOoM counterattack and were able to pick them off one-by-one and move in for a final score that put us up 3-2 for the 2nd round, and gave us a 2 score lead for the match. This deflated FOoM a bit and with time still on the clock we easily captured for the 4th time of the round to take our overall lead to 3 before the round ended. Round 2: DJedi 4, Foom 2

This was a great game against a distinguished and historic clan. FOoM showed incredible talent and sportsmanship and it really shows why they have been together for over 800 matches. We look forward to our next epic conflict and wish you the best of luck in future STA games.
