Team Fortress Custom Map CP_Castle4 Released

Vilepickle has been at it again, releasing yet another update to his completely original CP_Castle map. Big thanks to all the time and hardwork you put into these maps. Without you the TF2 community would not be flourishing with such an abundance of high quality, user created, custom maps. You rule Vile, even though you stab me in the back as spy sometimes.

The map cp_castle3 has, at long last, been updated to cp_castle4.  This version fixes many of the troublesome issues of version 3 such as campable spawn doors, overly large stages (stage 3), and adds features like another CP to stage 1.  The map also looks much better than version 3, which should be a welcome change.  If you are running Castle right now or have stopped running the map, I encourage you to check out this version, because it is quite a bit different.

STA: DJedi over Ghosts of Darkness

Tuesday, DJedi faced off against Ghosts of Darkness on Desert Fortress, a custom map with two middle points to keep the game interesting. Round 1 started off with a bang, GD had obviously done their homework and kept us on our toes. DJedi was able to score early after some hard fought battles to go up 2-0. GD was determined though and was able to close the lead with some precision sniping from [GD]reelz and full frontal heavy weapons guy action. GD was closing in on our lead at 3-2 and was on the verge of tying it up, but Hein and Hangy made the save by capturing B. DJedi pushed forward and won Round 1: 4-2 DJedi.

For round 2 we switched Tendril in for Hein, whose new 3rd shift job is totally awesome. For this round we corrected some of the mistakes we made in Round1 and everyone played tighter and with more intensity the 2nd round. Polar’s sniper rifle was on fire and his cover support held reelz and GD down while the rest of DJedi moved around the map. Communication and teamwork really came together and were able to execute our strategy at a high level. Round 2: 4-0 DJedi.

Great game’s GD, we look forward to our next battle.

Final Scores
Round 1: 4-2 DJedi
Round 2: 4-0 DJedi
Final: 8-2 DJedi over GD

Team Fortress 2 – I, Spy

Found this over on Youtube this morning. I have copied the authors comments because yes, I am that lazy today.

..just a little something I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks in my time off (after being inspired by EvilDaedalus’s vid); I’ve spent far too much time playing as a Spy, so I thought I’d throw together another video covering a few of the tactics I use :)

How Not To Play Engineer

When I first saved this link for future watching I was excited to post another howto video similar to those done by EvilDaedelus. This parody video shows you how to do everything wrong the right way.

Surreal Visions

In a followup to a previously released trailer, The Doctor has put together a very nice compilation video of some pub action. It’s very well done and the bottle decimation on the last point of dustbowl is absolutely stellar. Good work The Doctor! This video is also available on YouTube in high quality format, but the vimeo embedded player looks nicer for this page.

SURREAL VISIONS – a spectacular TF2 compilation from The Doctor on Vimeo.

Here it is after long delay it’s finished. It’s a action compilation, filmed from different angles and some gameplay scenes to spice it up a little bit.

In this one i tried around alot with cameraangles. It has no specific plot it’s to show TF2 scenes from a different perspectives.

The demoman who wields the bottle is “[AD]Belink” a very good demoman buddy, it really pays off to heal a good demoman ;)

For the freefly section i had nice support from the Hampshire Heavies crew, many thanks for your help the scnes turned out really nice.

The Escapist on Team ROOMBA’s TF2 Griefing

The Escapist posted an article about the guys behind the very popular TF2 Griefing Videos floating around the internet. Through a series of e-mail correspondence, Kieron Gillen was able to compose an article that shows the production and human aspects of changing
multiplayer experiences during online play. It’s good to see that these guys do have some morals while they record hours upon hours of demos required to create their performance comedy.

Educated adults are far from a bunch of kids; it’s clear they’ve at least thought about the issues. They argue the griefs are short lived, and the players are in control of whether they play or not. “I recognize that I’m ruining someone’s fun, albeit temporarily, but jerks in an online videogame are just part of the package – ‘Game Experience May Change During Online Play.’ I’d like to think that everyone recognizes this by now, and I don’t feel particularly bad about it,” says Ryan.
