Team Fortress 2 Wall Hack

Wow, while looking through a bunch of videos this weekend I ran across this little video. It shows how easy it is to hack the models in TF2 by only using notepad to change a few bytes to make every model show up as a wire frame. I’m sure Valve will have a fix out for this soon, but the simplicity behind this hack makes you wonder how many other blatant holes are in Valve’s game code.

17 Kills In 45 Seconds as Pyro

On phase 2 of dustbowl at the first capture point and pyro runs in with uber and starts wrecking the enemy. After living through the uber he then proceeds to create more havok for the people that just respawned by sneaking up behind them. Now, if he had only axed some questions, this video would be a candidate for monumental achievement of the year.

How To Grief in Team Fortress 2

This is a wonderful video showing the joy of healing and ubering a spy to wreak havoc on your own team. This guy also stole a page from Tendril and Lunk’s how to grief as engineer playbook. However, the idea of pushing engineers hadn’t occurred to me. Wonderful video, great work.

Valve Nerfs Medic

If it wasn’t bad enough that spies can’t sap sentries anymore, demomen can’t use contact grenades anymore, soldiers run out of rockets every five minutes, splash damage being reduced to a raindrop and pyro’s flames last ten minutes minimum, Valve has screwed up yet another class with their latest update.

The latest update causes the medic’s uber charge to drain at a faster rate if you use it on more than one person. I don’t think smart players should be penalized for playing the game, learning a skill and using that skill for the advantage of their team. What’s next valve? Elminate rocket jumps? Why not just include an aimbot so that the people who don’t want to spend time actually playing can still have a fun experience watching giblets fly everywhere? Please, stop slapping down the very players who play the game to get better every time they learn something halfway innovative.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Team Fortress 2

  • Added Custom Tab explanation dialog to be shown the first time the server browser is opened
  • Changed Medigun Ubercharge meter to drain faster for each target that still has Ubercharge beyond your current target. This means there is a penalty for having multiple people being Ubercharged at one time
  • Fixed crouch-jump exploit that allowed players to get outside of the world
  • Fixed bad characters in the chat string when achievements are announced in languages other than English
  • Fixed a few instances of truncated text in the menus and dialogs for languages other than English
  • Fixed problem that was preventing some dedicated servers from uploading gamestats
  • Fixed scoring bug during Sudden Death when the map timelimit is triggered
  • Added the string “(extra slot was added for SourceTV)” when maxplayers is increased for SourceTV

Don’t Get Rick Rolled

This is typically fun until you get banned. I think my personal record is under 30 seconds from never letting my team down to getting banned.
