Useless Gaming Accessories

Tendril pointed me to this article, which contains the most useless set of stupid addons for a gaming system ever. The brand new Wiimote weapon kit takes uselessness to dangerous new levels. With people already throwing their wiimotes through their televisions through overzealous use, it’s only a matter of time before somebody loses an eye. ….Or is that when the fun starts?

It’s tough to beat this latest bundle from the folks at Dragon Electronics, which offers no less than eight ways to accessorize your Wiimote and nunchuck. That includes a pair of daggers, an axe, and a pistol to name a few

Welcome theSpawn to DJedi

Welcome theSpawn to Digital Jedi. Somehow this one slipped through the cracks as he has been a full member for at least 2 weeks now. After a long trainee period, multiple scrims, matches and late night pub action, theSpawn has shown both a high level skill and dedication to the clan. With his new membership we now have yet another member of det5, the elite demoman guild from quake world, among our ranks.

Niko, another old school QWTF player, has also been accepted our invitation to the Trainee program and will be sporting the coveted T until he matriculates into the clan.

Valve Releases Team Fortress 2 Update

Another Team Fortress 2 update has been released by valve.

The two most important changes relate to exploits in the game.
Black Spy exploit fixed
Sniper quick-switch exploit fixed

The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

  • Fixed “CUtlLinkedList overflow!” crash
  • Added player position data to server logging of events (player_death, player_builtobject, teamplay_flag_event, object_destroyed, teamplay_point_captured, teamplay_capture_blocked)
  • Improved mapcycle handling to ensure it always loads new mapcycles when the mapcyclefile convar is changed
  • Fixed sniper quick-switch exploit allowing them to avoid zoom/unzoom times
  • Fixed an exploit allowing players to spawn into the enemy territory at the start of a round
  • Fixed syringegun projectiles sometimes pushing players high up into the air, allowing them to reach bad map locations
  • Removed an obscure rendering setting that would allow players to make cloaked spies appear fully black
